Butthurt Level: Massive

Shorter conservatives all over the internets, the teevee, and the radio:

There is no joy in Mudville and apparently they’re running low on Xanax as well.

Though I think I’ve got to quibble on one small detail:  I’m not sure the wingularity can be breached.  It’s a receding event horizon in the permanent gravitational embrace of the black hole that is Teh Stoopid; one could try to track it as it recedes but to do so is to risk falling into a Stoopid so massive, so dense, that neither light nor rational thought may penetrate.  That way lies madness.

We don’t try to understand if we value our sanity; we just point and laugh.

I don’t want to understand it. I just want to avert my eyes and tune it out. It is really, really frightening.

You know I don’t have outrageously strong feelings about health-care reform. But the massive sheeplish reciting of ridiculous screaming points is just way, way too Idiocracy. It is scary to think that so many people will just swallow and spew what others tell them.

I truly expected things to get more civil during this administration. In fact, I thought electing Obama instead of Clinton would be a step in that direction, because so many people react so unreasonably to Clinton, and because he is so unflappably civil.

Pollyanna takes one to the rose-colored glasses, I suppose.

    Pssst…he’s also b-l-a-a-a-a-c-k.

And that’s really what a good bit of the freak-out is all about. Not all of it; they’re well trained to freak-out on command and no matter who the Democratic president is, he’ll always be the most liberal, socialistic, communistic, etc etc etc because Rush says so because SHUT UP, that’s why!

It’s the Angry Party and it’s what’s been driving them for at least the past 15 years. They’ve got to keep it focused somehow so it doesn’t turn on them. Churchill had a comment along the lines of “dictators who ride to and fro on tigers…but the tigers are growing hungry.” Same basic principle at work here. And yes, some of the crazies will at some point break from the herd and do something terrible, and the rest of them will rush to blame the victims, but for the most part, these folks are too lazy and helpless to do much other than whine incessantly.

The ass-asymptote is forever approached- never reached.

The GOP truly is the Family Values party – too bad those values are from the Jukes & the Kallikaks.

They are now vowing to run on wholesale repeal of the HCR bill, a strategery which should work like a charm once the immediate benefits sink in & enough folks come to understand the others yet to come that are under attack by the Zombie Spawn Of Reagan.

At least Napoleon had the common sense to go quietly to Elba after HIS Waterloo … John “Shouty McShouterson” Boehner has no such awareness — & with the aid of Michael “Potato Salad” Steele, he just might give an encumbent in a midterm substantial gains for the first time in a generation (& during a recession, no less) with his fetish for acts of repulsively infantile poutrage in public.

Hey, whattaya know – twisted minds do indeed think alike.

The ugliness is really scaring me this week. How will we ever get out of this mess?

I came home all depressed today, between the state cuts to education funding here in GA and listening to NPR on the way home about the nastiness post-health-care. Newt was in town today and said violence is bad … but the Dems brought it on themselves and deserved it.

John Lewis beed nice. All he said was Newt’s words speak for themselves. There’s a role model for you.
