Another Blast From the Past
Funny how things can trigger your memory – someone over at Sadly, No! posted a link to (what they call) a “sandwich” at NY’s Carnegie Deli. It’s more like a Leaning Tower o’Meat than a sandwich, but what it reminded me of was the B. Kliban admonishment, issued via book title, to Never Eat Anything Bigger Than Your Head. Which then led me to remembering my favorite cartoon from that book – one that pops up in my mind pretty much every time I dine in a fancy restaurant:

Kliban’s the best. The Biggest Tongue in Tunisia forever changed my ideas about comedy.
Bastard stoled my comment. He’s a fishy bastard, he is.
Our cat Toby, looks just like a Kliban cat when he’s sitting there, shunning us.
Jen, I have never forgotten this cartoon, either! While I was a Kliban fan, I didn’t remember it as such, I first read it in a National Lampoon as an idle yute.
I also fondly remember something along these lines:
“And the Lord was grieved, and he did smite the Babylonians with model trains.”
