Another Great Line

HBO showed Cold Comfort Farm earlier this evening, and I couldn’t resist sitting down and watching it again.  My favorite bit in the whole thing comes at about 3:10 in the following clip:

If you’ve never seen the movie, then you should.  Aunt Ada is the reclusive owner of the farm/matriarch of the family, and rules the farm and its inhabitants with an iron fist, playing her trump card of having seen “something nasty in the woodshed” to keep them all doing her bidding.  The “something nasty in the woodshed” is a running joke; and here you see the appeal to me  – it’s quite like the “freak camping accident” that brought such heartbreak and woe to the Shithouse Troll.

If you have seen the movie, this was probably your favorite bit, too, and I’m sure you won’t mind seeing it again.
