114 Fucking Degrees
Little Rock set an all-time high temperature record at 114 FUCKING DEGREES around 3 pm today. The heat index remained in the neighborhood of a balmy 120.

Oh dear god, Jenn. I feel like sending a chopper in to get you the hell out of there. Probably we’d have to call back helicopters from Kabul to get some that could fly in that heat.
Seriously, that is some bad shit. Even if you were doing absolutely nothing but lying on the floor nekkid…and people have to work and do other stuff. Holy crap.
But, but the heat index is a socialist plot, so says Rush!

Not to worry. Right now, at 10:40 pm, the temp is down to a chilly 94 degrees; the socialist plot index is at 102.
I was really pissed off when the back a/c unit went out last week and I ended up spending about $350 for repairing it and cleaning and maintenance of both units. Today, not so much. My beat-the-heat strategy today was: don’t even open any of the doors; forget about stepping outside. I waited until after the sun went down to put out the sprinkler.
